LORD OF THE FLIES
->William Golding
“The Lord of The Flies” is a book about friendship and unity,
about the power of leadership and team spirit.
“The Lord of The Flies” is the story of a few English boys
who were on a trip. But their aircraft crashed on an island. Based on certain
reasons, they got to the conclusion that the island was populated by a strange
creature, which they named “the beast”.
But it was actually just a man, who was tied up in a parachute, that
came during the night (dead, obviously, but driven by the wind) and landed on
the top of a mountain.
They started fighting and they cast away their chosen
leader, asking another boy to become their leader instead. The ex-leader`s best
friend, Piggy, and another young boy, called Simon, were killed.
The author leaves us in suspense, only telling us that the
ex-leader was chased by the helpers of the new “ruler”.
What I really enjoyed at this book is that the whole book is
a continuous suspense. I never knew what was going to happen next. At the same
time, it is an interesting, captivating book, in which William Golding
sprinkled death and adventure.
On the other hand, I hoped that in the end I would find out
what was going to happen to the old leader of the children. But it finished
without telling me anything about this subject.
In this book, the boys became a structured and united team,
because they knew that if they acted together, things would be easier in that
wild and foreign island. From this point of view, unity dominates. On the other
hand, their leader became too aggressive and wanted his ideas to be strictly
followed. So we are allowed to say that he became too severe. But in the very
beginning, he was very friendly and he was the one who taught them how to
behave. But for the ex-boss, the boys wouldn`t have been a team, that worked as
one single body.
This is a short revision of “The Lord of The Flies“, written
by William Golding, which is a book I completely recommend.
